After a recent trip to Asheville NC, I’ve had those beautiful mountains on my mind. And as I got more into this piece the violet colors brought to mind the lyrics, “Purple Mountains Majesty” in the song America The Beautiful. Katherine Lee Bates originally wrote the poem in 1893 although her travels through America’s heartland including the majestic view of Pikes Peak were her inspiration, it certainly works for me! What an amazing, beautiful country we have.
